Do you have an initramfs file in /boot for this kernel? What size is it? Please attach your grub configuration file.

Hey Josh -- hope this finds you well. I'm marking closed b/c I found the issue. (Freakin' Ovirt strikes again!) Even-though I had all 3 kernel's configs, maps, and vmlinuz'z -- of course I was missing initramfs's. Wasn't able to gen using dracut -- until I remembered that i did some ovirt testing months ago on this box. For those that find this thread here's the fix (in the case of the past 2 kernels prior to this one): # rmdir /lib/dracut/modules.d/91ovirtnode* # dracut /boot/initramfs-3.9.4-200.fc18.x86_64.img 3.9.4-200.fc18.x86_64 # dracut /boot/initramfs-3.9.5-201.fc18.x86_64.img 3.9.5-201.fc18.x86_64 /slashWristSigh Thanks, Mike
