I'm running F19-mate-beta. The desktop is blank but there are files in the /home/me/Desktop folder. I am also unable to drag files to the desktop.

mate-desktop-1.6.1-8.fc19.x86_64

Please do a yum downgrade mate-file-manager. You should have mate-file-manager.1.6.1-6.fc19
