Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Apurva Bhole 2013-07-01 14:49:38 UTC
Description of problem:
When trying to login a valid user that contains i18n characters in the username and/or password, the authentication fails.

How reproducible:
Everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login as Admin
2. Create a username "novýuživatel"
3. Logout
4. Login with the credentials of the newly created user

Actual results:
We're sorry, but something went wrong.

Expected results:
Based on whether the credentials are valid or invalid, the result should be either a successfull login or an "Authentication failed, try again" message.

Additional info:
This login feature works good with the CLI.

Tracking upstream - https://github.com/Katello/katello/pull/3129

Comment 3 Petr Chalupa 2013-10-15 14:24:01 UTC
previous comment belongs to another bug, changing back to NEW

Comment 4 Walden Raines 2013-10-15 15:59:46 UTC
This only happens with signo. Logging in as the above user in katello works as expected.

Comment 7 Walden Raines 2013-10-15 21:38:12 UTC
The bug appears to be on the katello side as signo has the user logged in correctly, changing component.

Comment 9 Marek Hulan 2013-10-16 08:02:13 UTC
Actually both components need a fix. Here are the fixing PRs
https://github.com/Katello/katello/pull/3191
https://github.com/Katello/signo/pull/22

Comment 10 Walden Raines 2013-10-16 13:41:14 UTC
Reassigning to Marek since he already has PRs in.
