Description of problem:
I dont know what caused the problem. but I had been having issues with wifi disconnects preceeding it.

Also the machine locked (power still on, screen blank, no response to key presses or VT swithcing) up not long after this.

Do you still have problems with wifi with updated kernel i.e. 3.9.11 or 3.10.x ?
