Description gerald 2000-02-28 15:12:06 UTC
I have an ASUS L7300 laptop with an SMI Lynx 910 vga card.

I installed Piglet on this laptop (BTW, the graphical installation did

not work). I configured the XF86_SVGA server as recommended.

If I try to startx KDE (or login via GDM), the display will go blank and

the keyboard does no longer react to any input. I can still login remotely

and everything seems quite normal. The XServer and all KDE parts are up and

running. I can stop and restart them but display and keyboard will stay

dead.

There are no problems when I use the XF86_FB server instead.

Another cosmetic problem I just noticed:

All icons in netscape are in black and white when I use the XF86_SVGA server.

(This does not happen with the XF86_FB server).

use the FB server instead, that laptop is not officially supported.
