Description of problem: In Fedora 18 was dependency: gnome-session-xsession is needed by (installed) gnome-panel-3.6.2-2.fc18.x86_64 In Fedora 19 was gnome-panel obsoleted by gnome-classic-session (which is subpackage of gnome-shell-extensions). And which does not require gnome-session-xsession any more. And if you do not have gnome-session-xsession you are not unable to log into Gnome3. I'm reporting to successor of gnome-panel, but this Requires should probably go to some gnome3 package. I'm not sure to which one (as KDE user). Feel free to change component. How reproducible: deterministic Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora18 with Gnome (check that you are able to log into Gnome3) 2. yum --releasever=19 --disableplugin=presto distro-sync 3. rpm -e gnome-session-xsession Actual results: You are now unable unable to log into Gnome3, just to Gnome Classic. Expected results: Some package should require gnome-session-xsession, so users are allowed to log into Gnome3
I believe bug 917246 is very related here. I've taken the liberty and changed component to gnome-session, these guys should know best what component to depend on.
