Description Dan Mergens 2003-09-22 18:56:42 UTC
Documentation for RedHat 9 suggests to use parted to manage partitions, however
parted does not work with ext3 partitions. Redhat 9 uses ext3 partitions by
default. Documentation should be corrected to reflect this.

Latest version of parted used (as of Sept. 20, 2003).

Run parted on a system with ext3 partitions. Execute 'print' command on any of
the ext3 partitions.

 - reports "strange partition" ... "parted doesn't now how to handle this (yet)."

Parted DOES work for non ext3 partitions, such as vfat.
