Description Marius Vollmer 2014-09-30 14:03:48 UTC
passwd -l adds two "!" characters but usermod -U only removes one. WTF.

Comment 2 Tomas Mraz 2014-09-30 14:18:31 UTC
Actually this is a bug in libuser - passwd manual page states that it adds only single ! with -l, but the libuser backend of passwd does otherwise.

Comment 3 Miloslav Trmač 2014-09-30 14:21:11 UTC
Changing the duplciate target just to be precise.

See also bug 853153, which is really the core issue in libuser, but the report specifically talks about (usermod -U).

Upps, sorry for not checking for duplicates carefully enough.
