This needs to be carefully designed, as it is not only for backup awereness. This requires a notification mechanism in the UI, which, afaik, not gonna be part of 3.6.0. In addition, using "remind me later" is also something to design properly, and that's a concept we don't even have.... should it be per user? per system? sounds to me like the setup process should give some indication about that, and not the webadmin. I suggest to push to 4.0, or to close. Einav? 'Remind me later' will need to pop-up again in the UI in the next login of a new session. > should it be > per user? per system? For every admin user until someone answers the prompt. > sounds to me like the setup process should give some > indication about that, and not the webadmin. We need this to be very visual and un-avoidable and setup messages will not be enough. > > I suggest to push to 4.0, or to close. Not a option, since this is a very sensitive and user facing topic, let's find a way to include this in 3.6. > > Einav? (In reply to Oved Ourfali from comment #1) > > Einav? may not be trivial, adding the UserExperience keyword - will need some discussions IMO. I think this RFE is totally a UX feature. We don't have such mechanisms, as described in Comment #1. I'm moving this to UX whiteboard, for Einav to consider. Rescoping this to also show warnings on certificates expiration, critical compatibility issues and other important info and best practices. Target release should be placed once a package build is known to fix a issue. Since this bug is not modified, the target version has been reset. Please use target milestone to plan a fix for a oVirt release. If relevant, please re-open, and push to ovirt-future. Closing this as wontfix. I don't see us prioritizing this anytime soon. As for backup awareness, we have the alerts for that, to increase the admin knowledge of the need to backup. |
