It was found that certain PHP functions did not properly handle file names containing a NULL character. A remote attacker could possibly use this flaw to make a PHP script access unexpected files and bypass intended file system access restrictions.

Created php tracking bugs for this issue: Affects: fedora-all [bug 1223447] php-5.6.9-1.fc22 has been pushed to the Fedora 22 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. This is another CVE-2006-7243 (see bug 662707) like issue. Fixed as part of the commit that addressed CVE-2015-4025 (bug 1223408 comment 2). In case of pcntl_exec(), function argument is a command to be executed, hence is unlikely to be from an untrusted source. Considering this a Low impact issue. php-5.6.9-1.fc21 has been pushed to the Fedora 21 stable repository.
