*** Bug 1228782 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I played around a little more with the updates. Specifically plasma-workspace and f22-kde-theme are causing the breakage. plasma-desktop and plasma-desktop-doc are not causing the breakage. I can't install f22-kde-theme and plasma-workspace without one another, so I can't isolate the problem any further since those packages must depend on one another to work. sudo dnf downgrade plasma-desktop plasma-desktop-doc plasma-workspace, reboot, problem stil persist. sudo dnf downgrade f22-kde-theme, reboot, problem fixed. Hope this help. Pretty sure the renaming of the f22 theme from org.fedoraproject.twentytwo to org.fedoraproject.fedora.twenty.two is the culprit here. I found at least 3 places where looknfeel is stored in configs: kdeglobals [KDE] LookAndFeelPackage= kscreenlockerrc [Greeter] Theme= ksplashrc [KSplash] Theme= probably ought to add a kconf_update script to f22-kde-theme to account for these renames *** Bug 1229970 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** dup'd bug #1229970 seems to confirm my suspicions in comment #4 (particularly about kdeglobals' LookAndFeelPackage= key) Note that simply renaming of the theme in kdeglobals to match the new name does not resolve the issue. f22-kde-theme-22.3-2.fc22 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 22. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/f22-kde-theme-22.3-2.fc22 *** Bug 1230333 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** The problem is still not solved with f22-kde-theme-22.3-3.fc22 and plasma-workspace-5.3.1-2.fc22 For anyone testing this where it fails to help, it would help greatly if you could provide the output of this command, before and after installing the candidate fix: kreadconfig5 --file=kdeglobals --group=KDE --key=LookAndFeelPackage Thanks. After = org.fedoraproject.twentytwo.desktop Did you restart your session? (hint: you do need to relogin to fully test this) Oh, ick, there's a .desktop postfix? I need to fix that, my code was only checking for "org.fedoraproject.twentytwo" f22-kde-theme-22.3-4.fc22 fixes most problems, the KWalletManager issue still remains. One issue per bug please (the latter may be bug #1228119 , particularly if you ever disabled kwallet in the past) Package f22-kde-theme-22.3-4.fc22: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 22 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing f22-kde-theme-22.3-4.fc22' as soon as you are able to, then reboot. Please go to the following url: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2015-9995/f22-kde-theme-22.3-4.fc22 then log in and leave karma (feedback). Hi, I had similar issues with Plasma as described above (upgrade from F21 to F22), right after login, CPU up to 100%, repetitive KDED5 crashes (again and again), not usable main panel, parts of the main panel squished together... I had to use Gnome instead... After installing pkg from C#17, it works again :-). f22-kde-theme-22.3-4.fc22 has been pushed to the Fedora 22 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. |
