Errata, that is bz#1342755 I been reporting this problem for many generations of Fedora, but an earlier report for f24 is bz#1352023. I won't mark this a dup since the new symptoms are much more serious. The KVM (kbd, vid, mouse) also freezes when the display dims to save power. This seems to happen on older Intel graphics. A desktop with newer Intel graphics does not have this problem. Here is the hardware kernel-4.8 fails on: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) (rev 0c) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (secondary) (rev 0c) if this can't be fixed, maybe Fedora should just officially no longer support older Intel graphics. Still broken on kernel-4.8.15-200.fc24.x86_64, last usable kernel tested was 4.7.9. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1342755 *** |
