From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.2; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)

Description of problem:
I don't know that this is really a bug but ever since I can remember check-update is the only yum command that requres a "-" in it. everything else (groupupdate, grouplist) has no -. Very minor issue, but check-update seems to be inconsistant with the rest of the syntax for yum, I would think it should just be checkupdate.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
yum-2.4.1-2

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum check-update
2.
3.

umm - check-update is a convenience-only command and has been there for quite
awhile.

changing it now just seems silly, really.
