Description Jakub Jelinek 2006-08-21 18:53:53 UTC
I wasn't expecting DRI to work so I have commented that out in the config file,
still, the card even in pure 2D is often failing to redraw things e.g. when
a window is destroyed or moved.

Not sure if it might be relevant, but I'm running radeonfb on the console
using following hack very early in /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit:
/sbin/modprobe radeonfb
mount -n -t tmpfs /tmp /tmp
/bin/mknod /tmp/fb0 c 29 0
/usr/sbin/fbset -fb /tmp/fb0 1024x768-90
/usr/bin/clear
/bin/rm /tmp/fb0
umount /tmp

Commenting out the loading of radeonfb cured this, so it is clearly a problem
with coexistence of radeonfb and xorg-x11-drv-ati on the X300SE card.
The same layout (radeonfb on the console and xorg-x11-drv-ati for X) works just
fine for me on Radeon 7000, 7500 and 9200.

Hi, Jakub, could you please try with something more current? And if the bug
still holds, could you please also attach (uncompressed, untarred)
/etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.*.logs? Sorry, for missing this bug.

Thanks a lot.
