Description Miroslav Lichvar 2006-11-03 10:21:38 EST
This is another split off tcpdump package, bug #193657.

Spec URL: http://people.redhat.com/jnovy/files/libpcap.spec
SRPM URL: http://people.redhat.com/jnovy/files/libpcap-0.9.5-1.fc7.src.rpm
Libpcap provides a portable framework for low-level network
monitoring. Libpcap can provide network statistics collection,
security monitoring and network debugging. Since almost every system
vendor provides a different interface for packet capture, the libpcap
authors created this system-independent API to ease in porting and to
alleviate the need for several system-dependent packet capture modules
in each application.

Install libpcap if you need to do low-level network traffic monitoring
on your network.

Rpmlint is silent on src.rpm and built rpms and I've verified that the package
conforms to the Packaging guidelines.

Maybe the files in doc/ and the CREDITS file should be

Miroslav, do what you think is better. I don't think it is necessary to include
them but maybe it would be a good idea. From the doc directory I'd choose just
txt format probably.

Added to dist-fc7. Please close this bug when you've built for rawhide.
