How reproducible:
- reproduced by customer and in-house
Steps to Reproduce:
- Update to latest for major release, or version locked EUS
- Demonstrate initial non-functionality in Firefox using https://www.webex.com/test-meeting.html
- Start and join the test meeting to fully reproduce
- Note error message regarding h264 plugin (see webex-test.jpg)
- Close tab
- Go to about:addons, plugins, and select "always activate" for the OpenH264 plugin. Note that it is not enabled (plugin.jpg) initially
- Observe that it just sits with the message "OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc will be installed shortly" but the plugin never seems to install (see plugin-never-enables.jpg)
- Retest with the webex meeting and note that it still doesn't work, same error as before
Actual results:
- Plugin doesn't install/enable
Expected results:
- Plugin works
Additional info:
We've disabled the auto update feature before, that's why it is not installed by simply waiting (as described in the yellow plugin entry field). In next release, we'll enable it back again.
Meanwhile to install the plugin please Open the 'OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc.' entry in the Plugins tab and then click on the gear wheel and pick "Check for Updates". I'm sorry for your trouble.
