Do you use KDE? What happens when you run

xdg-open file

in the command line? If the konqueror is used even for that, then we have probably duplicate of bug 489120 for firefox.

Comment 2 Fabrício Godoy 2009-07-01 00:16:25 UTC
I've installed KDE, but I don't use at all.

xdg-open ~/
Opens nautilus.

xdg-open ~/textfile
Opens gedit.

Comment 3 Garrett Mitchener 2009-07-15 14:55:06 UTC
I'm seeing the same bug. When I open a folder within firefox, it uses konqueror or thunar even though I'm using gnome. I use a few kde apps, so I have kde installed, and I use xcfe4 for a light-weight vnc desktop.

xdg-open ~

uses nautilus.

Comment 4 Garrett Mitchener 2009-07-15 14:56:58 UTC
Maybe related to bug #508667?

Comment 5 Garrett Mitchener 2009-07-15 15:02:53 UTC
Maybe related to bug #497710?

Comment 6 Mario Torre 2009-07-24 15:01:14 UTC
I add this comment here because I'm pretty sure it's related and maybe of help in understanding the component that is faulty: also azureus opens KDE stuff.

Comment 7 Edward Sheldrake 2009-09-02 13:47:49 UTC
From bug #508667, I think fixing or removing the broken line:

OnlyShowIn=;

from gnome-nautilus-folder-handler.desktop solves the problem.

Comment 8 Matěj Cepl 2009-10-05 21:49:50 UTC
Depends on the answer to bug 497710 comment 24 ... we could have a duplicate there.

Comment 9 Julian Sikorski 2009-10-26 15:45:47 UTC
Changing
OnlyShowIn=;
to
OnlyShowIn=GNOME;
in /usr/share/applications/gnome-nautilus-folder-handler.desktop fixes the problem. That's what that file contains in its F-12 version.

It fixes here as well.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 11 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 11. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '11'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 11's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 11 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 12 Bug Zapper 2010-06-28 13:21:23 UTC
Fedora 11 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2010-06-25. Fedora 11 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
