SLVoice related output of /usr/bin/pulseaudio -vvvvvvvv none

Description Arne Woerner 2009-11-20 12:46:20 UTC
Description of problem:
with fc11 i used to voice-chat with some people each day...
with fc12 i can't receive the others, while they can still hear me...
my SLclient is home-brew and 64bit, but the official linden lab beta release wont work better with fc12...
my SLvoice is from linden lab and 32bit

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pulseaudio.x86_64 0.9.20-1.fc12 (the normal version didn't work, 2)
openal-soft.i686 1.9.563... (the 1.10 doesnt work)
openal-soft.x86_64 1.10.622-2.fc12 (the normal version didn't work, 2)

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install fc11 + secondlife, remove linden labs lib/libopenal.so.1 and install openal-soft.i686
2. install fc12 + secondlife, remove linden labs lib/libopenal.so.1 and install openal-soft.i686

Actual results:
1. voice will work fine even with pulseaudio
2. voice cant hear others anymore

Expected results:
i should be able to hear others...

Additional info:
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-16092
might be related to Bug #516595, #533501?
but changing the card port didn't help... and i dont have a "Analog Output
/Amplifier"...

i hope this will help to fix my problem... :-) -arne

Comment 2 Arne Woerner 2009-11-20 23:15:04 UTC
it seems like the path from openal-soft.i686/pulse-lib.i686 to pulseaudio.x86_64/pulse-lib.x86_64 is buggy... (according to irc freenode #openal)

i conf-ed slvoice so that it writes a wave file to a fifo...
then i read from the fifo with mplayer...
and i could hear another voice again... w00t :-)

Give it any new news about that bug from you Arne?

Comment 4 Arne Woerner 2009-12-15 12:50:09 UTC
nope - it still happens on a fully updated box...

and the workaround needs a manual "kill SLvoice process" and/or "manual voice disable/re-eanable" from time to time (always after a far TP)... that wasn't that bad in fc11, but happened there, too...

Comment 5 Arne Woerner 2009-12-20 13:40:13 UTC
i tested
pulseaudio-libs-0.9.21-2.fc12.x86_64
pulseaudio-libs-0.9.21-2.fc12.i686
and it doesnt work, 2...

is there something new (regarding fc11's pulseaudio-libs) in pulseaudio-libs-0.9.21-2.fc12.i686 that could have problems with pulseaudio-libs-0.9.21-2.fc12.x86_64?
