Issue wasn't reproducible, earlier the EDID data from the monitor had got corrupted, dmesg showed:

Mar 15 11:13:01 localhost kernel: [drm:drm_edid_is_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 224
Mar 15 11:13:01 localhost kernel: [drm:drm_edid_is_valid] *ERROR* Raw EDID:

The result was xrandr not showing all the resolutions supported by the monitor.  Not sure if that's relevant to this crash.

After rebooting laptop and power cycling monitor, xrandr and plasma-desktop behaved as expected.

How to reproduce
-----
1. Plugin monitor to laptop's VGA port
2. Accept popup to reconfigure desktop
