Issue wasn't reproducible, earlier the EDID data from the monitor had got corrupted, dmesg showed:

The result was xrandr not showing all the resolutions supported by the monitor.  Not sure if that's relevant to this crash.

After rebooting laptop and power cycling monitor, xrandr and plasma-desktop behaved as expected.

2. Accept popup to reconfigure desktop
