This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux major release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Major release. This request is not yet committed for inclusion. After more investigation I find this is not problem in kdm. Even if I start X manualy and run startkde it will throw this traceback and Xwindow segfault. When I commented in xorg.conf line: Option "SWcursor" "true" I was able to login and this traceback do not appear again. Rasigning to xorg-x11-drv-ati Created attachment 418962 [details]
xorg.conf
Can't reproduce it, please attach full Xorg log, also what is your GPU. This issue has been proposed when we are only considering blocker issues in the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. It has been denied for the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. ** If you would still like this issue considered for the current release, ask your support representative to file as a blocker on your behalf. Otherwise ask that it be considered for the next Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. ** I'm having the same problem: can't log in to KDE, exactly the same symptoms as noteded in the first two lines of the bug description. The solution of comment #2 didn't work for me; setting SWcursor to true or false makes no difference. Attaching: Xorg.log, syslog, kdm.log and abrt logs and dumps, including core. Created attachment 434563 [details] comment #8 xorg.log, syslog, kdm.log Created attachment 434564 [details] comment #8 abrt dumps Created attachment 434565 [details] comment #8 xorg.conf Zenon you are facing a different issue, it seems that your having an issue with synaptics, please open a new bug against synaptic (In reply to comment #12) > Zenon you are facing a different issue, it seems that your having an issue with > synaptics, please open a new bug against synaptic It's not synaptics, but indeed it's not xorg-x11-drv-ati either. Moved to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618690 . In meanwhile I upgraded to Fedora14. Therefore I'm unable to reproduce it on my machine. Moving to 6.3 This request was not resolved in time for the current release. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This request was erroneously removed from consideration in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4, which is currently under development. This request will be evaluated for inclusion in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4. Yes. Dual screen. HW was ATI card, which I gave to tpelka. (In reply to comment #31) > Yes. Dual screen. HW was ATI card, which I gave to tpelka. I can confirm I got the graphics. Which ati ? :) (In reply to comment #33) > Which ati ? :) Radeon X500 [RV380] PCIe. Still can't reproduce is there a special kde configuration ? Like one screen rotated ? Can you try if you still can trigger it with 6.4 nightly ? I do not use RHEL6 on my workstation anymore. So I could not test it, sorry. Tomas if you could test with 6.4 it would be nice. (In reply to comment #40) > Tomas if you could test with 6.4 it would be nice. Jerome, sorry for my late response. I wasn't able to reproduce either. I would be fine with close too. Since this is not reproducing, I am closing it worksforme. If this problem reappears, please reopen this bz with detailed information on how it occurred. Thanks. |
