This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux major release. Product Management has requested further
review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux Major release. This request is not yet committed for
inclusion.

Comment 2 Miroslav Suchý 2010-06-01 11:06:37 UTC
After more investigation I find this is not problem in kdm. Even if I start X manualy and run startkde it will throw this traceback and Xwindow segfault.

When I commented in xorg.conf line:
 Option "SWcursor" "true"
I was able to login and this traceback do not appear again.

Rasigning to xorg-x11-drv-ati

Can't reproduce it, please attach full Xorg log, also what is your GPU.

Comment 7 RHEL Program Management 2010-07-15 14:46:20 UTC
This issue has been proposed when we are only considering blocker
issues in the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. It has
been denied for the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release.

** If you would still like this issue considered for the current
release, ask your support representative to file as a blocker on
your behalf. Otherwise ask that it be considered for the next
Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. **

Comment 8 Zenon Panoussis 2010-07-26 23:38:20 UTC
I'm having the same problem: can't log in to KDE, exactly the same symptoms as noteded in the first two lines of the bug description.

The solution of comment #2 didn't work for me; setting SWcursor to true or false makes no difference.

Attaching: Xorg.log, syslog, kdm.log and abrt logs and dumps, including core.

Zenon you are facing a different issue, it seems that your having an issue with synaptics, please open a new bug against synaptic

Comment 13 Zenon Panoussis 2010-07-27 14:44:57 UTC

> Zenon you are facing a different issue, it seems that your having an issue with

It's not synaptics, but indeed it's not xorg-x11-drv-ati either. Moved to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618690 .

Comment 15 Miroslav Suchý 2011-01-12 08:31:05 UTC
In meanwhile I upgraded to Fedora14. Therefore I'm unable to reproduce it on my machine.

Comment 23 Jérôme Glisse 2011-10-24 21:15:28 UTC
Moving to 6.3

Comment 26 RHEL Program Management 2012-07-10 06:00:35 UTC
This request was not resolved in time for the current release.
Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in
the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 27 RHEL Program Management 2012-07-11 02:05:41 UTC
This request was erroneously removed from consideration in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4, which is currently under development. This request will be evaluated for inclusion in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4.

Comment 35 Jérôme Glisse 2012-10-04 18:27:46 UTC
Still can't reproduce is there a special kde configuration ? Like one screen rotated ?

Comment 36 Jérôme Glisse 2012-10-11 20:42:47 UTC
Can you try if you still can trigger it with 6.4 nightly ?

Comment 37 Miroslav Suchý 2012-10-12 10:32:04 UTC
I do not use RHEL6 on my workstation anymore. So I could not test it, sorry.

Comment 40 Jérôme Glisse 2012-10-15 14:30:02 UTC
Tomas if you could test with 6.4 it would be nice.

Comment 42 Tomas Pelka 2012-10-21 18:52:27 UTC

> Tomas if you could test with 6.4 it would be nice.

Jerome, sorry for my late response. I wasn't able to reproduce either.

I would be fine with close too.

Comment 43 Denise Dumas 2012-10-22 14:45:50 UTC
Since this is not reproducing, I am closing it worksforme. If this problem reappears, please reopen this bz with detailed information on how it occurred. Thanks.
