If you can reproduce this, then try running 'yumex d' from a commandline and attach the console output here.

Comment 6 Tim Lauridsen 2012-12-02 14:15:10 UTC
it should have been 'yumex -d'

Comment 7 Karim Moussa 2012-12-02 21:09:44 UTC
Right now, I'm unable to test it because I've got to finish some work. But I'll try from the 14th of December and report back if it happens again.

I've used yumex again, but the error has not yet occurred again, but I'll keep on using "yumex -d >yumex.log 2>&1" and post the file if it happens.

Debug output from the console when yumex fails, processing a package's dependencies

Redirecting the console output into a file did not work, but manually copying did. So this file contains the debug output obtained from "yumex -d".

Comment 10 Karim Moussa 2012-12-07 15:46:23 UTC
The error occurs at the end of the log, before 16:33:23, when I closed the program by closing both the progress and main windows.

Comment 11 Karim Moussa 2012-12-07 15:53:05 UTC
And yumex works flawlessly for these operations if called with "LANG=C" prepended.

Comment 12 Edson 2013-01-18 22:20:27 UTC
The problem occurred when I used yumex when trying to install LibreOffice.

Package: yumex-3.0.10-1.fc18
OS Release: Fedora release 18 (Spherical Cow)

This "bug" is happening also in Fedora 19, it just doesn't install any of the packages it downloaded, then I kill it (it just doesn't do anything)...

Comment 19 Tim Lauridsen 2013-09-10 13:43:31 UTC
Look like the problem is cause by the yumex backend is sending messages in non english locale over a stdout/stdin pipe to the yumex frontend.

I have made a upstream fix to base64 encode the message before sending it througt the pipe.
