This is not a bug, but a suggestion. Look at bug 1013280, and comment 32; adam wrote : "We note that we should check that the additional images don't make the package so much bigger that it causes any of our release-blocking images to go over their size limits - particularly the desktop live image, which is very close to its limit." And it's true, five jpg image for all language is very big. I suggest to use svg files instead of jpg files, because in svg file you can have internationalization, with tag "switch" and "systemLanguage=xxxx". For example, if the system is set to fr, and if there is a french translation in the svg file, the image show the french translation. And if there are no translation, the image show the default (en). For test I made the five .svg files with six languages (es, fr, ja, uk, zh_CN and zh_TW) and english for default : https://mega.co.nz/#!MNlCVTCI!bgluZghGZ6qW92WANP1BrzFlLRRYOwfk_TnzzlOUH3k For info : rnote with .jpg files = 1.3 Mio rnote with .svg files = 154.8 Kio But I am not a programmer or dev, and I don't know if anaconda support svg files.
Seems sensible. Please open an anaconda bug for SVG rnotes support and block this bug against that. I'll do this when it is supported.
OK I open a new bug : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1034407
Hi Tom, look the https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1034407 I do some tests in the last comments, and I think that work fine.
Hi Tom, For the F21 rawhide, can you modified your fedora-logos package, like this : in the rnote folder, delete all sub-folders and just add one folder, named "en" with this svg files : https://mega.co.nz/#!xBMGVC4B!ABelfS6cZN3soEn0GKlTfwvUEi5ttb0I0lNZ_Xob5PM Chris Lumens add the svg support for rnote in anaconda and is available for F21 rawhide. I have just one demand : what package provide the fonts in anaconda ? just for demand that add comfortaa-fonts in that package.
The download link is broken, the good one is : https://mega.co.nz/#!YIEBxTaC!MquXlRC-7qeVYj8WMRBlB3C0E982It4J29oy1nkHq2s
Change applied in fedora-logos-21.0.2-1.fc21. Your font issue should be filed as a new bug against anaconda, since we don't want fedora-logos to depend on comfortaa-fonts.
I open a new bug for Comfortaa-fonts in anaconda, but nobody respond... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1047430 I also made a request on the transifex mailing-list (for other translation), I have one new translation for Bulgarian (bg), when I have few other I would be providing the new svg files.
Hi Tom, I have only two new translations: bulgarian and croatian (from transifex teams). But problem with Comfortaa fonts is still there. If that fonts are not in anaconda, that use another font, and the look is not good: size and space are not the same. I made a svg files with Cantarell (this fonts are in anaconda), with the good size for better look. What is the best : use svg with Cantarell or with Comfortaa ?
Hi Tom, As nobody answers (for comfortaa in anaconda and add new translations in rnote), I send you two tarball: -one with rnote in Cantarell fonts and bulgarian and croatian translation -one with rnote in Comfortaa fonts and bulgarian and croatian translation I think as Comfortaa has not been included in anaconda, the rnote svg must be use the Cantarell one, for best look (size and space). Do you agree ? Best regard Dominique Cantarell: https://mega.co.nz/#!NMFDGT5T!F_340Ald8Pwm2LSJfdy6On7vEOlpYmRgRwa2U2aVwQ4 Comfortaa: https://mega.co.nz/#!hcFw3R5D!U0g9AEo0INq7lhz-ScBxqF2_4E0MTq8rtSXyVQam6S8
A little up, please...
Hi Tom, Have you see this bug : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1053172 I also made a test with rnote-comfortaa, an iso of dvd without comfortaa font available in squashfs.img and in french the text on the rhythmbox anaconda rnotes image is also cut off. I think you must use the rnote-cantarell svg image while comfortaa fonts are not in anaconda.
I've asked Mo to confirm which fonts the ransom notes should be using.
For info, in the rootfs.img there are the Cantarell and DejaVu fonts, and no Comfortaa fonts.
Then please either: * Open a new bug against anaconda asking for them to add the Comfortaa font or * Use the Cantarell or DejaVu fonts in the ransom notes SVG file. (If this requires a change to the existing package, please open a new bug against fedora-logos).
I have already send a bug for Comfortaa fonts in anaconda : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1047430 but nobody respond... OK I open a new bug against fedora-logos for change the existing package : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1058460
