To avoid issues with DataObject, DataObject is to be disabled (using a system property so it can be disabled by default in the product). DataObject is the visual representation of a process variable. By disabling DataObject, the user doesn't lose any functionality (as everything can be specified in a non-visual way using process variables (aka properties)). It does remove any risks associated with modeling data variables and input/output in a visual way.

Added ability to disable data objects, please use following system property on server startup: -Ddesignerdataobjects=false
Ryan, could you make sure this property is set by default for the product?
Verified on ER7. DataObject feature is disabled. Closing this issue as VERIFIED although handling of process definitions which do contain DataObject(s) is not correct. New BZs will follow.
