The oVirt Guest Agent needs to be packaged for and ported to Debian
Yes, we need ovirt-agents for Debian 6 also. I have a couple Debian 6 vm's dont have ovirt-guest due to missing dependencies and older versions of software. If the linux ovirt-agent package can be made to install without dependencies the better to support. Wouldnt mind a FreeBSD ovirt-guest, I have 1 oddball VM for a customer that doesnt have an ovirt-agent either.

Debian 6 had some limitations, but I don't recall exactly what it was. > If the linux ovirt-agent package can be made to install without dependencies > the better to support. There will be dependencies due to the nature of features we are providing, however it should be not too much though. > Wouldnt mind a FreeBSD ovirt-guest, I have 1 oddball VM for a customer that > doesnt have an ovirt-agent either. As far as I know there are unfortunately no virtio-serial drivers for freebsd available yet.
Packaged for Debian 7.x only For installation instructions see the feature page: http://www.ovirt.org/Feature/GuestAgentDebian
verified with ovirt-guest-agent-1.0.10-1.1 and Debian7 wheezy
oVirt 3.5 has been released and should include the fix for this issue.
