Description Shai Revivo 2014-02-20 15:05:32 UTC
Description of problem:
when trying to create bootable drive with the ovirt-node iso it failed with recommended tools.
this is step #1 for one to do so we must make it work smoothly especially with the tools we formally suggest

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.0.4-1.0.201401291204.el6

How reproducible:
i tried working with livecd-iso-to-disk and fedora liveusb creator - both failed
the tools that did work is copy via dd or using unetbootin

Steps to Reproduce:
1.download ISO
2.create bootable usb
3.try boot from it

Actual results:
fail to boot \ create

Expected results:
working smoothly :-)

Setting target release to current version for consideration and review. please
do not push non-RFE bugs to an undefined target release to make sure bugs are
reviewed for relevancy, fix, closure, etc.

Re-targeting all non-blocker bugs still open on 3.4.0 to 3.4.1.

Comment 3 Fabian Deutsch 2014-05-08 08:45:49 UTC
This bug seems to be the result of the upstream bug 1068740.

As this is resolved this bug here might also be solved in one of our upcoming F20 builds (in jenkins).

Using http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/ovirt-node-base-3.0/iso/el6/ovirt-node-iso-3.0.4-1.0.201401291204.el6.iso
to try follow:
(a) make ovirt-node liveusb in rhel env:
livecd-iso-to-disk --format --reset-mbr ovirt-node-iso-3.0.4-1.0.201401291204.el6.iso /dev/sdb
(b) make ovirt-node liveusb in fedora env:
livecd-iso-to-disk --format --reset-mbr ovirt-node-iso-3.0.4-1.0.201401291204.el6.iso /dev/sdb

Boot from (a) and (b) liveusb media success. So i couldn't reproduce this bug by using "livecd-iso-to-disk" tool

Comment 8 Fabian Deutsch 2014-07-09 10:09:38 UTC
According to comment 7 this should be working with more recent builds.

Shai can you confirm that it is also working with our latest build:
http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/ovirt-3.5-pre/iso/ovirt-node-iso-3.5.0.ovirt35.20140707.el6.iso

Comment 9 Fabian Deutsch 2014-07-15 07:03:58 UTC
According to comment 7, the bug can not be reproduced, because of a lack of new data I am closing this now.
