Description of problem: The blank template does not have a real image and it's not a editable objects and so we should not be able to create versions for blank template. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select a shoutdown vm 2. Choose make template -> 3. Select in the 'Root Template' : Blank Actual results: succeed to create a version of blank template. Expected results: Shouldn't be allowed to select blank template. Additional info:
we're actually thinking of allowing it to be editable in 3.5(with instance types) to configure system-wide defaults. Then it would make sense to have versions as well Though at the moment it's a wrong behavior indeed. I'm curious, can you then edit that newly created version?
Yes, I can edit the template that is a sub version of blank.
when fixing, need to re-consider, as instance types should be available, making blank template also system (defualt) object and then having subversions might make sense
we're going to address it in bug 1130174 the proper way *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1130174 ***
