This has already been implemented and merged into the cinder puppet module.  This is the associated pull request: https://review.openstack.org/89602

This RFE is for both 5.0 (RHEL 7) and 5.0 (RHEL 6).

Do we have an infrastructure where I can test this? I can surely do a blind implementation and hope "it will just work"(tm), but I would rather do it right first time before we will handle the result to Dell QA.

The Dell QA team will be testing this functionality when it becomes available for testing.

Unfortunately I don't have an EQLX array that I can expose for testing.  There is an EQLX array in a lab in the Westford office, but I'm not sure of the availability of it.  Please contact Steve Reichard for more information.
