Assigning to Andrew Dahms, as the designated author for RHELOSP Installer/Foreman issues.
These changes are for Section 5.3.4. Configure a multiple-storage back-end. Change #1 First paragraph, 2nd sentence: * Currently: "Basically, multi back-end launches one cinder-volume for each back-end." * Should be: "Basically, multi back-end launches one cinder-volume for each back-end or back-end pool." Change #2 Configure Block Storage scheduler multi back-end, step #2, 2nd sentence: * Currently: "The CapacityWeigher attributes higher scores to back-ends with the most available." * Should be: "The CapacityWeigher attributes higher scores to back-ends with the most available capacity." Notes: * Change #1 above has been submitted to the upstream OpenStack Cloud Administrator Guide, Bug #1346517. * Change #2 above is already in the upstream OpenStack Cloud Administrator Guide, in the Configure Block Storage scheduler multi back end subsection, under Section 6. Block Storage. * A new EqualLogic section for creating a volume from an image is currently being written, and will be submitted soon.
Request a new section be created in Section 5.4 Troubleshoot Your Installation. This new section is tentatively titled, "Troubleshooting Volumes Size Reporting Discrepancies for EQL Storage". Attached please find a LibreOffice .odt file that contains the requested verbiage. Note that there are graphics of CLI output in the document; will abide by your judgement as to whether or not to use them. If you would prefer plain text instead of .odt, please let me know. Thank you.

I noticed the "needinfo" flag. What information is required? As soon as I know, I'll get on it. Thanks.
Created attachment 923073 [details] new EQL size troubleshooting section revised Hi Dale, we edited the content you provided (attached). Sorry about the confusion, looks like I NEEDINFO'd you prematurely -- I wanted to give you a chance to review before we published it.
Created attachment 923320 [details] PDF review comments Some small edits, may have been caused by munged text. Hopefully the PDF comments survive Bugzilla attachment & download. If not, please contact me for specifics.
Created attachment 923727 [details] new EQL size troubleshooting section revised Thanks Dale. I've corrected the minor items and converted that one wide table into an actual table (removing the ID information) to address the width issue.
Looks good to me. Thanks!
Note that an upstream bug to include this content has been opened for the OpenStack Cloud Administrator Guide. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/openstack-manuals/+bug/1348665.
Verified that the content is updated: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform/5/html/Cloud_Administrator_Guide/troubleshooting-cinder-install.html#section_ts_cinder_config Deepti, have you created an upstream launchpad bug for this yet? Dale has already done this, FYI. (In reply to Dale McDonald from comment #16) > Note that an upstream bug to include this content has been opened for the > OpenStack Cloud Administrator Guide. Scott, why is this dependent on Staypuft support to expose EQL? The documentation is deployment method independent. Arkady
Arkady, Just as an FYI we documented this to be agnostic to deployment method as well (meaning, we did not explicitly state that this was dependent on Staypuft support). Corresponding changes have now been merged upstream. Closing BZ. Thanks Deepti!
