Another user experienced a similar problem: So this can't be caused by any operation directly related to pptp since I didn't manipulate it at all. All I know is that I was listening to online music using flashplayer and it suddenly lost connection. Then pptp is reported crashed. reporter: libreport-2.2.2 backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: /sbin/pptp 192.253.253.130 --nolaunchpppd --loglevel 0 --logstring nm-pptp-service-11037 crash_function: binary_search executable: /usr/sbin/pptp kernel: 3.14.7-200.fc20.x86_64 open_fds: package: pptp-1.8.0-1.fc20 reason: pptp killed by SIGSEGV runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 0
In your /var/log/messages we see that the triggering event was a connection reset by peer, which is the PPTP server. The rest of the log, including the SIGSEGV, was a cascade from this trigger. A possible cause of SIGSEGV was fixed upstream just now, but this won't fix your PPTP server.
