Description Gary Lloyd 2014-08-05 16:11:53 UTC
Since Ovirt 3.4 there is an option to create multipath links in the web console for storage domains but not Direct Luns.

Would it be possible to have this option for Direct Lun as well ? We currently modify vdsm ourselves in order to achieve this and my colleague uploaded the code into gerrit last year after we attended the KVM Forum in Edinburgh. I think it was decided by the Ovirt team that multipathing should be defined at the engine level instead, but for some reason Direct Lun was forgotten about when this feature was implemented.

We currently have around 160 VMs in a production environment connected to Dell EqualLogic SANs, so having this feature present as a management option in the Ovirt would be very useful to us.

Thanks

For anyone interested in this feature: using two direct LUNs that are the same LUN from different connections, you can setup multipath from within the guest.
For now this is the path we have to allow multipath to un-managed disks.

This will be solved via Cinder integration.
