Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
When accessing some page (one of the Hosts), I keep getting the error 907:
"""
cannot connect to 'https://idm.spice.brq.redhat.com:443/ca/agent/ca/displayBySerial': [Errno -12190] (SSL_ERROR_PROTOCOL_VERSION_ALERT) Peer reports incompatible or unsupported protocol version.
"""
The error started popping up after I disabled TLSv1 in mod_nss configuration. As TLS 1.0 is outdated for quite a long time already, FreeIPA should be able to work in 1.1+1.2 or pure TLS 1.2 environments
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ipa-server-3.0.0-37.el6.x86_64
How reproducible:
always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. in /etc/httpd/conf.d/nss.conf, change NSSProtocol line to:
NSSProtocol TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2
2. restart httpd
3. browse web ui, try doing some actions
Actual results:
error 907 such as above pops up from time to time
Expected results:
IPA should work without any glitch when only recent TLS versions are enabled in httpd
Additional info:
logs may reveal another pain points...
More specifics are needed on exactly which pages work and which pages do not.
This particular error is associated with fetching data from dogtag to display the certificate status (revoked or not) so it may be that only those entries with certificates are at issue.
Did you test with the cli at all?

I've only seen the error on the host list. My IPA isn't populated enough IMO to see if this is the only occurence of the error or not.

No, I use CLI only seldom so I reported the bug and reverted the setting back.
IPA Poodle fixes are tracked in Bug 1154687, closing this one as duplicate.
If you are interested in TLS 1.2 support in mod_nss, please track Bug 1166316 instead.
