Comment 3 M. Edward (Ed) Borasky 2014-11-05 21:36:19 UTC
Hmmm - maybe this is unique to my machine??

Comment 4 Archie Warnock 2014-11-20 15:17:14 UTC
This has been crashing my FC20 machine repeatedly over the past several days. Based on the logs, I suspected that it might have been due to some conflict with updates to dnf and yum. I uninstalled dnf (along with dependent modules initial-setup and anaconda) and it seemed stable but crashed again yesterday, so that wasn't it.

Comment 5 Archie Warnock 2014-11-27 16:21:53 UTC
Kernel upgrade to 3.17.3-200.fc20.x86_64 did not resolve the issue. My motherboard (ASUS A8R-MVP) is kind of old, so maybe it's a hardware issue as I haven't seen this problem on any of my newer hardware.

Comment 6 Sumit Rai 2014-12-29 18:46:35 UTC
I am having a similar issue on Fedora 21 (3.17.4-300.fc21.x86_64). To me it seems there is no clear sequence of events that led to this. Please take a look at logs below.

happens 3 times here, MB is old so maybe hardware problem, as i seen some other troubles with same internal MB NIC r8169 in near past with old kernel 3.18.1-dont-remember-exactly, with recent kernel that work much better but still rare occurrence.

Still happens with 3.18.9-100.fc20.x86_64.

It happend to me after a resume from suspend. Don't know if it caused the problem, but I attached an HDMI cable after resume from suspend. USB ports also died in the meanwhile:

Comment 15 Fedora Kernel Team 2015-04-28 18:32:40 UTC
*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 21 kernel bugs.

Fedora 21 has now been rebased to 3.19.5-200.fc21. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 22, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 22.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Description of problem:
From what I could see, it looked like the error occurred when I would plug in my Ethernet and the WiFi would switch off automatically. The switching of interfaces would cause the error i guess.

Comment 18 Chevet 2015-10-16 07:56:29 UTC
Description of problem:
It's may be in relation with the network access. I was sharing on my PC the antenna of my iphone 4s. Probably the 3G network used was not very accessible due to the interferencies with of a new 4G network provider antenna.
Since I was at home using an ADSL connexion, I never got this problem.
Best regards

In my case I did not share any 3G/4G connection.
May be that I used WiFi, but from a router and not from a smartphone using 3/4G

Comment 20 Fedora End Of Life 2015-11-04 10:07:22 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 21 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 21. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '21'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 21 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 21 Fedora End Of Life 2015-12-02 04:40:59 UTC
Fedora 21 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-12-01. Fedora 21 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Note You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
