Comment 4 Josh Boyer 2013-09-18 20:39:13 UTC
*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 19 kernel bugs.

Fedora 19 has now been rebased to 3.11.1-200.fc19. Please test this kernel update and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Description of problem:
This Fedora is a VM guest on Virtualbox 4.2.18 r88780 on Windows 8 on an HP Pavilion g6 laptop.

I think it was could have been caused by putting the laptop to sleep.

Comment 13 Michele Baldessari 2013-11-23 23:18:44 UTC
Hi all,

the NETDEV WATCHDOG message is simply a message to state that we the kernel asked to transmit
data but even though some time has passed nothing has happened.

The watchdog message does not tell us why the device stopped transmitting. It may be due to
a hardware error or a software (kernel/driver/BIOS/firmware) bug.

As the NETDEV WATCHDOG hang is a symptom of an issue, not an actual issue itself, the root
cause of the NETDEV WATCHDOG hangs must be investigated on an individual basis.

Here we have:
* 1 boeuf32 - via-rhine
  Don't see any relevant commits in Linus' current tree for via rhine
* 3 w.coppens - ne2k-pci
  Don't see any relevant commits in Linus' current tree for via rhine
* 6 tfhigginsjr - e1000
  While there were some updates recently, none seem relevant. Worth trying a more recent kernel though
* 7 michael - e1000e
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=718886
* 8 v.plessky - ATL1E
  While there were some updates recently, none seem relevant. Worth trying a more recent kernel though
* 9 kbzd76 - ipheth
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=716864
* 10 bzrh.bobd - e1000e
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=718886
* 11 wettersmail - sky2
  Don't see any relevant commits in Linus' current tree for via rhine
* 12 noelduffy.nz - r8169
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=715137

So please let's keep this one about via-rhine. If you still see these messages join the existing BZs
or open a new driver-specific one if it does not exist yet.

Thanks,
Michele

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

This bug has been in a needinfo state for more than 1 month and is being closed with insufficient data due to inactivity. If this is still an issue with Fedora 19, please feel free to reopen the bug and provide the additional information requested.
