Description Rob Adornato 2014-11-09 11:36:31 UTC
Description of problem:
Last week the headphones worked.

ThinkPad T410 speakers work. When headphones are plugged into jack, no sound device appears.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
21-beta

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Get a ThinkPad T410 with up to date F21 Beta (on Nov 9, 2014)
2.Play music through speakers = works
3.Plug in headphones = stops working

Actual results:
No sounddevice when plugged into

Expected results:
Last week it worked fine

Additional info:
Tried with both Samsung branded and blackberry branded in-ear headphones with in-line microphones

Comment 1 Rob Adornato 2014-11-09 16:46:29 UTC
The microphone built into the headphones works and input is recognized. Microphone sound device appears in Sound Settings panel correctly.

I'm using stock Fedora 21 Workstation, installed during Alpha.

Let me know if there are any rpts or logs I can provide, as I'm relatively new to this bug reporting process.

Getting the same issue (same on T410).
I didn't have any problem few days ago, now when any headphone is inserted in the jack I get no outputs.
Running pulseaudio -vvvvv I get this when insterting the headphones:

D: [pulseaudio] core.c: Hmm, no streams around, trying to vacuum.
D: [pulseaudio] module-udev-detect.c: /dev/snd/controlC0 is accessible: yes
D: [pulseaudio] module-udev-detect.c: Resuming all sinks and sources of card alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0.
D: [pulseaudio] module-alsa-card.c: Jack 'Headphone Jack' is now unplugged
D: [pulseaudio] device-port.c: Setting port analog-output-speaker to status unknown
D: [pulseaudio] module-alsa-card.c: Jack 'Headphone Jack' is now plugged in
D: [pulseaudio] device-port.c: Setting port analog-output-speaker to status no
W: [pulseaudio] module-alsa-card.c: Availability of port 'analog-output-headphones' is inconsistent!

Switching ownership of bug over to Wim Taymans, Lennart is not really working on PA these days.
