Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Harald Jensås 2014-12-10 02:14:36 UTC
Title: Red Hat Satellite Backup Procedure

Describe the issue:
|||quoute|||
Check the names for Red Hat Satellite PostgreSQL databases. Default database names are foremanschema and candlepin. Find all default values in the katello-configure
manual page, or in the /usr/share/katello/install/default-answer-file. If the
Red Hat Satellite instance is not using the default names, check the katello-co nfigure.conf, which stores all options provided to the katello-configure
command, and look for d b_name.
# grep db_name /etc/katello/katello-configure.conf
|||quote-end|||

1. file /usr/share/katello/install/default-answer-file
/usr/share/katello/install/default-answer-file: cannot open `/usr/share/katello/install/default-answer-file' (No such file or directory)

2. file /etc/katello/katello-configure.conf
/etc/katello/katello-configure.conf: cannot open `/etc/katello/katello-configure.conf' (No such file or directory)

3. The default database name is foreman, not foremanschema

4. man katello-configure
No manual entry for katello-configure

5. man katello-configure.conf
No manual entry for katello-configure.conf

6. man -k katello
katello-service (8) - Script to control Katello server
katello-ssl-tool (1) - Generate and maintain SSL keys, certificates and deployment RPMs

Suggestions for improvement:

Rewrite this section, and test all suggested procedures in the docs before shipping. Make sure not to reference non-existing files and manual pages.
