Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Matthias Clasen 2014-12-15 20:30:37 UTC
We are planning a desktop rebase to GNOME 3.14.x in 7.2. gtk3 should be rebased to the latest stable release from the 3.14 branch, probably 3.14.6.

Comment 2 Pavel Lisý 2015-01-01 21:27:20 UTC
It sounds promising I start thinking about switch my Desktops from Fedora to RHEL

Comment 9 Bastien Nocera 2015-05-12 09:25:17 UTC
I get this warning when gtk3 gets installed:

DEBUG util.py:257: Package adwaita-gtk3-theme is obsoleted by gtk3, but obsoleting package does not provide for requirements

Comment 10 Lukas Vacek 2015-08-31 12:11:10 UTC
gtk3-3.14.13-13.el7 is now present in all rhel-7 composes

Comment 11 Jim 2015-08-31 18:03:03 UTC
Gnome 3.18 is supposed to be released in Sept. Any chance Red Hat 7 will get Gnome 3.18 or do we have to wait for Red Hat 8?

Comment 12 Robin R. Price II 2015-11-12 15:16:53 UTC
Jim,

I do not think we will have to wait till RHEL8. We have an RFE out to rebase Gnome again to 3.18+ here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1258015
