Description of problem: Upgrade from F20 to F21 and clean install of F21 both have the same problem. KRDC shows only a blank blue screen when trying to connect via RDP to Windows Servers (2003, 2008, 2012) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): krdc-4.14.3-1.fc21.x86_64 krdc-libs-4.14.3-1.fc21.x86_64 freerdp-1.2.0-0.2.beta.1.fc21.x86_64 freerdp-libs-1.2.0-0.2.beta.1.fc21.x86_64 How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. open KRDC 2. enter known hostname 3. enter login information Actual results: blank blue screen Expected results: desktop of Windows Server Additional info: This did NOT happen with latest (as of Monday 12/15/2014) packages on Fedora 20. I did a fedup upgrade to F21 that morning and encountered that problem. Thinking the problem might be package related (due to the upgrade), I reformatted and installed F21 fresh on my laptop and have the exact same problem. The hosts are up and I can connect to them via the Remote Desktop Client in a Windows virtual machine. I've tried to get debug information to pass along, but I can't find the documentation on how to do that exactly with this software. I will be happy to help debug this in any way I can as it's vital I get this working.
Does running xfreerdp by hand work?
(In reply to Rex Dieter from comment #1) > Does running xfreerdp by hand work? Was not aware there was such a beast. After learning the CLI syntax, yes xfreerdp DOES indeed work. So, it looks like an issue with KRDC's interaction with FreeRDP? While googling for an answer to this, I remember seeing a post about the fact that the syntax of newer versions of FreeRDP had changed and that KRDC was expecting the older syntax, but there was a patch posted in that bug report. (I can't find the link ATM, but I'll post if I can dig it up.) The thing is, this bug report was posted in mid- to late-2013 so I didn't think much of it at the time. I'll be happy to help debug the problem between FreeRDP and KRDC if someone can tell how to set KRDC to log the debug info. I couldn't find a single thing on Google about how to do that. It's been very frustrating.
Looks like xfreerdp is crashing (it does for me), see bug #1150349
