Description of problem: We currently only recommend ESR firefox versions on linux and IE. We need to add wiki page describing recommended browsers in a tier model. This page should also unify the spice console support recommendation between Linux and Windows to recommend virt-viewer on these platforms and offer the installation method. The goal is to define the following tiers for user portal and WebAdmin: Tier 1 - Fully tested and commitment to fix: - FireFox ESR versions on linux Teir 2 - Partly tested, will probably work. We make best effort to fix issues: - Lastest chrome\firefox on any arch. - IE9-10. Teir 3 - Not tested, might work. We try to fix issues that are not major: - IE11+. - any other chrome\firefox version. - other browsers (Safri, Opera). Document URL: Section Number and Name: Describe the issue: Suggestions for improvement: Additional information:
IE8 should be mentioned as not supported due to technological changes expected in 3.6.
this is the updated client/browser support matrix for 3.6: -- Tier 1 - Fully tested and commitment to fix: - Browser: Current FireFox ESR version on RHEL; OS: Linux. Teir 2 - Partly tested, will probably work. We make best effort to fix issues: - Latest Chrome/Firefox on any OS. - IE10 and above. Teir 3 - Not tested, might work. We try to fix issues that are not major: - IE9. - any Chrome\Firefox version on any OS that is not mentioned in previous tiers. - other browsers (Safri, Opera). --
Target release should be placed once a package build is known to fix a issue. Since this bug is not modified, the target version has been reset. Please use target milestone to plan a fix for a oVirt release.
this is an automated message. oVirt 3.6.0 RC3 has been released and GA is targeted to next week, Nov 4th 2015. Please review this bug and if not a blocker, please postpone to a later release. All bugs not postponed on GA release will be automatically re-targeted to - 3.6.1 if severity >= high - 4.0 if severity < high
oVirt 3.6.0 has been released on November 4th, re-targeting to 3.6.1 since this bug has been marked as high severity
Anyone can pick this up?
(In reply to Yaniv Dary from comment #6) > Anyone can pick this up? I think someone in UX team is best suited for this kind of docs. Einav?

Einav? simply need to update the "Recommended browsers" section in the "http://www.ovirt.org/Download" page (I don't even know if I have permissions to update this page). I recommend involve Mikey Ariel if necessary (not sure if she has a BZ user). @Yaniv - your advice is needed on whether it makes sense to use the 'Tier 1/2/3' terminology, or if this should be phrased differently.

I should be simpler. Latest Chrome\Firefox\IE10+ should work. The rest are best effort.
Can we close this one? It was fixed right?
(In reply to Yaniv Dary from comment #10) > Can we close this one? It was fixed right? Yes, the http://www.ovirt.org/Download page has been updated by Sandro (thanks Sandro!). Not sure to which status to move this BZ though.
