Xfce power manager is not shown in panel, although it's known to notification area

Description of problem:
xfce4-power-manager is not shown in notification area.

How reproducible:
always
(Tested on 3 Systems)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Fedora 21 Xfce spin. Preferable on a system containing a battery
2. Create a user account
3. Reboot after installation has finished
4. Login using the created user account
5. Accept default panel settings
6. optional: install all available updates, reboot and login again

Actual results:
Xfce power manager is not shown in notification area

Expected results:
Xfce power manager is shown in notification area

Additional info:
* Open properties of notification area to verify that Xfce power manager is Known and there for should be shown (see attached screenshot).
* Step 6 doesn't change the described behaviour, however it affects the interaction of nm-applet and notification area. Therefore it might be misleading.
* This only affects Fedora 21, Fedora 20 is working fine.
* Behaviour was observed after using fedup to upgrade from Fedora 20 to 21 (1 VM, 1 Laptop) and after a fresh install of Fedora 21 Xfce spin (VM using Fedora-Live-Xfce-x86_64-21-5.iso)

Does it show up if you add "Power Manager Plugin" to the panel? If it shows up, is it functional?

Right click on panel - > Panel -> Add New items -> Select the power manager plugin

It shows up and seems to be functional.
BTW: notifications are functional, it's just the icon that's not showing up.

OK, that sounds good.

This means it's not a bug but the plugin is just not added to the panel by default.

Hey Mukundan,

You're right the tray icon was removed upstream with release 1.3.0 (Release notes: [1]). However it was reintroduced in 1.4.4.
Since a tray icon fixes the issue with "battery icon not added to panel by default" (See your last comment and [2]) I opened bug 1211041 for updating to 1.4.4.

Kind regards
Woi
