Created attachment 1021421 [details] Patch 1 of 4 Because Fedora 22 has GNOME 3.16, metacity should be upgraded from 3.12.0 to the latest 3.16.x release in F22. This package update is available to test on: http://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/yselkowitz/gnome-flashback/

I offer to co-maintain this package. Let me know if you have any questions.
Also, this update is needed because: 1. Packaging GNOME Flashback 3.16.x in F22 depends on it (1219043) 2. Various window management bugs were fixed, such as: - A random bug when windows opens in fullscreen mode - Chromium does not appear in alt-tab switcher
Michael has helped continue my original work on Flashback. I am already in the packager group and am willing to (co-)maintain this package.

Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 25 development cycle. Changing version to '25'.
I have been maintaining metacity in my copr: https://fedorapeople.org/cgit/yselkowitz/public_git/metacity.git/ https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/yselkowitz/gnome-flashback/package/metacity/ Any chance this can get into the distro proper?
There is a discussion at MATE upstream to switch to metacity for our desktop, because it is well maintained by Alberts Muktupāvels. But for this we need an updated metacity in fedora. I am happy to become maintainer here and requested acls. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/metacity/
Please update to the latest supported version which is 3.24.1: http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/metacity/3.24/metacity-3.24.1.news. The currently available package metacity-3.12.0-5.fc26 is completely outdated, thanks!
This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.
The package is mine now, and 3.25.1 is now in rawhide. Unfortunately it's probably way too late to rebase F26, but there's still my copr.
Why is it to late for f26? F26 isn't released. Btw. i requested acl's too at pkgdatabase, maybe you need a co-maintainer.
(In reply to Wolfgang Ulbrich from comment #19) > Why is it to late for f26? If it's indeed used by Anaconda, I don't think it can be included this late so as not to disrupt the installer. OTOH, post-GA may not be an issue; let's clarify this on devel@. In the meantime, I'll prepare updates for F24+.
I went ahead and filed updates for F25 and F26. I won't make the latter stable though until either it is well tested in conjunction with anaconda, or until after GA.
The graphical installer boots up successfully on the Lenovo ThinkPad T400 of bug 1188774 using the Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_64-Rawhide-20170613.n.0 media which does include metacity 3.25.1. Unfortunately, the very issue of bug 1188774 persists.

Unfortunately, the very issue of > bug 1188774 persists. Sorry, not sure how to parse that. Does it work or not with 3.25 in Rawhide, and if it does, what still persists?
(In reply to Yaakov Selkowitz from comment #23) I wrote ".. the very issue of bug 1188774 persists". Bug 1188774 addressed the issue that the graphical installer is launched on the internal display of a docked Lenovo ThinkPad T400 with closed lid whereas it should appear on the external monitor which is erroneously set up as the secondary display.
