Description of problem: glusterd process crashed while setting the option "cluster.extra-hash-regex"

How reproducible: doesn't happen everytime. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create and start a volume (6x2 with 4 nodes)
2. run command  "gluster volume set <VOL> cluster.extra-hash-regex '(.*)\.swp*'

Actual results: glusterd crashed 

Expected results: glusterd shouldn't crash.
