Description Matthias Runge 2016-02-15 17:50:21 UTC
Description of problem:

livereload is an executable, included in the package; but it's more.
Even upstream names it python-livereload.

https://github.com/lepture/python-livereload

This package named livereload caused already duplicate work

Package python-sphinx-autobuild is a consumer of livereload with support for both py2 and py3.

William, it would be of much help if you can package it for python2 as well.

Comment 2 William Moreno 2016-02-19 16:09:39 UTC
python-livereload was retired for rawhide, so this will require a package review to unretire.

Can you do the package review? Any way this package was reviewed al tess 3 times but I want to run the test with python2 and this will requiere some adiotional libraries.

It would require a package review for renaming a package, yes.
My reasoning is, this package is named wrong, it should have been python-livereload from the beginning.
Please propose a package rename review and add it as dependency to this ticket. I'd be happily review it, if I find the time. You may also ask the (former) maintainer of python-livereload or the reviewer of that package review.

William,

I agree with Matthias. Please file a rename review request for livereload to python-livereload. Create subpackages python2 and python3 as given in sample spec file in https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Python#Example_common_spec_file

If both subpackages need to provide same livereload binary then I suggest to install python2 version as /usr/bin/livereload and python3 version as /usr/bin/livereload-3

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 24 development cycle.
Changing version to '24'.

More information and reason for this action is here:
