Comment 10 Bryan Kearney 2018-09-04 19:21:56 UTC
Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.

Comment 11 Rich Jerrido 2019-09-12 19:20:16 UTC
Looking at remote execution today, they can run a script both before and after patching. (See https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/4200341/d7b344ae63231bec36f91845592801ad)

Comment 12 Ramesh Daryani 2021-02-14 11:38:52 UTC
This would be a great feature and will save lot of time of linux admins in connecting the satellite and doing manual validation.

Comment 13 Venumadhava.Dampetla 2022-03-02 10:52:03 UTC
when can this email notification for a job feature can be included?

Comment 14 Adam Ruzicka 2022-03-02 11:00:18 UTC
Although this BZ was closed as wontfix, it was in the end implemented in upstream and landed in foreman_remote_execution-4.8.0, which would mean this should we available starting with Satellite 7.0.

Comment 15 Adam Ruzicka 2022-03-09 14:47:24 UTC
Moving to on_qa, this is present in 7.0 snaps starting with snap 1.

It was implemented slightly differently than originally described in this BZ. It is not configurable per-job, but per user. Each user can set their preference in Administer > Users > $USER > Email preferences > Remote execution job to receive either no email notifications, email notifications about failed jobs, email notifications about failed jobs or email notifications about any jobs.

Comment 18 Peter Ondrejka 2022-10-06 11:38:10 UTC
Verified on Satellite 6.12 snap 13, with postfix running on satellite, the emails are sent as expected

Comment 22 errata-xmlrpc 2022-11-16 13:32:23 UTC
