Created attachment 1128961 [details] Output of 'liveinst' Description of problem: I'm unable to launch Anaconda on a live session. 1. The component is just a guess. Since Anaconda works with other lives, it might probably be an issue with gnome/gtk/wayland etc. 2. ISO: Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-rawhide-20160220.iso. 3. I'm testing on qemu-kvm. Version-Release number of relevant components: anaconda-24.13-1.fc24.x86_64 xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-1.18.1-2.fc24.x86_64 gnome-session-wayland-session-3.19.4-2.fc24.x86_64 gtk3-3.19.9-1.fc24.x86_64 gnome-shell-3.19.90-1.fc24.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot a live system (with "enforcing=0", in order to avoid bug RHBZ#1308771) 2. Launch "liveinst" Actual results: 1. Anaconda does not start Expected results: 1. Anaconda should start correctly Additional info: I'm attaching the traceback printed after launching 'liveinst' via gnome-terminal.
Created attachment 1129102 [details] journalctl Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-rawhide-20160220.iso, launched installer via the installer icon. No errors in the GUI, it just doesn't launch. Looks GTK related.
It looks sorta GTK+ vs. Wayland-ish to me?
When I tried this, gtk_init_check printed: No protocol specified Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused Also, the gnome shell screen was flickering about once a second, and each flicker reset whatever I was trying to do in the activities overview. I don't know if that's related or not.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 24 development cycle. Changing version to '24'. More information and reason for this action is here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Program_Management/HouseKeeping/Fedora24#Rawhide_Rebase
I'm closing this as duplicate, since there is a new ticket with more details provided by Adam (together with the F24 blocking proposal). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1313098 ***
