Description Dustin Scott 2016-03-04 17:47:09 UTC
-What is the nature and description of the request?
Customer requests the ability to input their own log location when using the $evm.log method. As well as display the method execution time on both entry/exit without having to manually add via log timestamps and/or writing custom code to display the method execution time.

-Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
Ease of troubleshooting.

-How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
Another parameter to pass into $evm.log, e.g. $evm.log(:info, 'Message', 'method.log') that would place the file under the /var/www/miq/vmdb/log directory (or a new directory possibly /var/www/miq/vmdb/log/methods/).

-For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.
View the log messages and verify they are being placed in the input location. View the timestamps and ensure method execution time is displayed.

-Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?
I have not found one.

-Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?
Before the customer goes into production. This is tentatively scheduled for now depending on the success of the current implementation in development.

-Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?
Yes, sales in involved. Input pending depending on future meeting.

-List any affected packages or components.
