Actual results: gimp-resynthesizer is currently 0.16 Expected results: gimp-resynthesizer should match upstream version (currently 2.0) Additional info: New upstream address is on https://github.com/bootchk/resynthesizer Address on Release Monitoring https://release-monitoring.org/project/10555/

Created attachment 1161238 [details] gimp-resynthesizer spec file rawhide scratch build - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=14240050 F24 scratch build - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=14240054 Can you please verify that these packages are alright? Once you check these, I can use my proven packager privileges to commit these.
Created attachment 1161239 [details] gimp resynthesizer spec file the one change not documented in the spec file is the source tarball genenration. third line should read as git archive --format tar.xz --prefix resynthesizer_$(git rev-parse --short HEAD)/ HEAD -o resynthesizer_$(git rev-parse --short HEAD).tar.xz
I tested the scratch build which runs fine without major issue. Would it be easier the version like "2.0-1.20160524git%{shortcommit}" to avoid confusion according to the packaging naming guideline (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:NamingGuidelines#Snapshot_packages) ? Version in the spec file is still 2.0 and release: 1.20160524git%{shortcommit}%{dist} Otherwise using the git format is fine.
This is effectively done. http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=768719 I can also push for F24 but I don't think updating in F23 is a good idea. Luya?
Lets push it for F24 for now considering the major change. Let also include appdata as well from rhbz#1316714 for user running appstream application like Gnome Software. That way we close two bugs at once.
Here is a related bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1316714 which is trivial to add using this guideline https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:AppData "app-data-validate usage" line is very helpful to detect errors within appdata file.
I noticed appdata from bug#1316714 needs url update so you can apply the right address. Thanks.
