Currently, in cockpit there is no such approach to upgrade in the 'System' tab when update is available.
This might be a bit tricky. It depends if we can leverage a feature from COckpit or need to invent something for our own. Please remember that there will be an update mechanism on the Engine side for 4.0
Also: if we do this, let's keep it simple and let's stick to a simple $ yum check-update And just say that updates are available please use Engine or yum check-updates for details.
I don't see us implementing this. Perhaps Cockpit should do it (for all updates anyway) ?
I expect that cockpit's subscriptions/system page should be doing this for all systems, though that would miss the ovirt-specific flow described in comment#1 ("VMs are running on this host..."). That's probably ok, as oVirt users should be familiar with that workflow in any case
We will actually need the platform cockpit team to do this. It cannot be done from cockpit-ovirt. If we have time, let's submit a design
(In reply to Ryan Barry from comment #7) > We will actually need the platform cockpit team to do this. It cannot be > done from cockpit-ovirt. > > If we have time, let's submit a design Can we open a BZ on cockpit and close this as upstream?
We can definitely do that
Opened a bug on cockpit to trace this RFE: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1497409
