A patch has been merged upstream for this problem:
https://github.com/krb5/krb5/commit/0712d0059d72ddeaf1764f8fa173a321e3bc072d

It is also being applied to all of the stable branches. The patch is trivial and is required for the authentication indicators feature of FreeIPA.
