In Red Hat OpenStack Platform 9, it is now possible to upload and download Glance images to and from Cinder volumes. Two procedures must be added to the Instances and Images guide to outline these procedures.

Assigning to Radek for review.

Radek - after looking at the reference in comment #1, I am beginning to think that all we need is a description in the Glance chapter of the Configuration Reference that outlines how to enable the feature, and some conceptual details about what it does and why.

Bumping BZ up to OSP10 as the dev bug for this has moved up as well. Holding off merging Radek's commit until the feature is implemented.
